Kimono Day

Today has been a good day spending time with Japanese friends and having the opportunity to be dressed fully in a with an Obi (sash) wrapped correctly and all. This is one of the 4 Vintage Kimonos they brought me from a market at Shitennoju Temple, Osaka.

Getting into this outfit is definitely a 2 person job as I held my breath while my friend tied, wrapped and knotted me together. There was even a piece of cardboard used to stiffen the front of the Obi. They do look beautiful, but not the most comfortable of outfits and not the ideal choice for eating at a buffet.

Back In Blighty

I am back in the UK, over jet lag and can't believe how long my hair has become especially as it stays straight throughout the day unlike the curling reaction it had to the Indian humidity. Another day full of a million tasks to catch up on everything I missed the last few weeks.

A Costal Tour

It is another day touring various fishing village along the Kerala cost line with Sabu our Tuk Tuk driver. The photo looks a bit fuzzy, not to sure what is going on there, but the sights were beautiful. I am wearing a couple of my Indian purchases........a turquoise necklace and the skirt (sari slip) which is having another outing. Finishing off the outfit is a H&M shirt, Miss Selfridge cardigan, bag from TKMaxx and super comfy shoes I found in a shop on Oxford Street.

More Fabric

Words can not describe the fabric I have found on this trip so far. Can't wait to get home to make a skirt, so for now I wrap it and create another sarong. Working with the stunning fabric I am wearing an international collecting of necklaces, Miss Selfridge Cardigan and La Redoute sandals. Somehow I think I might end up buying more fabric by the end of my visit to India

Heading To The Beach

With a day like today there wasn't any other option other than heading to the beach. The ocean was a bit too turbulent, so relaxing on the sand it was. For the walk down to the beach I am wearing a Primark T-shirt, Turquoise necklace and fabric (worn as a skirt) I bought yesterday at a local market and a Dimoni bag from TKMaxx

The Day I Wore A Slip

We are heading out to take in some of the local sights. Considering the amazing colours that are worn here, I thought it was a great opportunity to do a bit of 'Colour Block'. The main inspiration started of with this vibrant red Sari slip (bought yesterday) that has been pinned up to be worn as a skirt. The green is a H&M vest topped off with a Primark blouse, Dorothy Perkins necklace and ASOS watch.

A Bit Of Spice

This trip to India has been amazing so far, compliments of Sabu our Tuk Tuk driver that has been showing us the sights off the beaten track. Tonight we are heading for a meal and shockingly it is going to be Indian food. This photo was taken by the pool at our amazing hotel Vivanta by Taj in Thiruvananthapuram. For just such a meal I am wearing a Primark top and scarf. The trousers I made from taking apart an unsuccessful sewing project, plus extra fabric in the same colour tone. I am looking forward to a spicy meal.
